Clay Disciplines at Kibworth
Situated around the ground we have a fifty bird sporting consisting of between 9 and 13 stands. The sporting layout boasts all the varieties of clays you could possibly want. Battues, loopers, crossers, teals and rabbits with standard, midi and mini clays blaze or black.
Kibworth has two skeet ranges with the ability of timed release using the claymate system. We have the ability to set up olympic skeet with our claymate system. Also we hold NSSA registered every month through the season. Please see the fixtures for details.
We have two Down the Line Layouts with the active voice release system. This allows quicker releases than a manual release. If you cannot make a registered shoot at the weekends, don't worry, we hold registered DTL throughout the week as well.
We have two compak/sport-trap layouts with an easier setup and a more challenging setup. New to the ground for 2010, we now have a 40 bird layout as well as the 25.
Fitasc can be expensive, however our layouts offer the clays at the same rate as our other disciplines. If you have always fancied a go but have always thought it was too difficult, why not try our entry level layout to ease you into the discipline.
We have a sixty foot tower which we use for driven practice, and tower shoot, ideal practice for game shooting.

New to the Sport
When people start a new hobby, it is often a daunting prospect to find the right location and an environment which is welcoming. At Kibworth we aim to make this process as easy and inviting as possible. Our friendly team are on hand for you to try the sport in a safe controlled environment and to provide the best advice on what to do next.

We only use CPSA qualified instructors– The CPSA is the governing body for clay shooting in the UK and all of our instructors are trained to provide the best tuition. The other benefits include full coverage on our insurance and also being legally covered to shoot with our exemption under section 11(6) of the Firearm Acts 1968-1997.

An introduction to Clay shooting is made up of two parts; classroom work and also shooting. To start the lesson, the instructor will take you into our coaching room where he or she will talk you through the principles of shooting. The instructor will talk you through your stance, gun positioning, any issues with eye dominance, aspects of lead and most importantly gun safety and ground etticate. Once our instructor is satisfied that you have got these fundamentals, you will go outside with your instructor where they will guide you through a series of twenty-five targets. The instructor will be wanting to achieve several things—getting you use to firing the gun, getting you to spot where you need to be shooting and also getting you natural with the gun so you are safe.

We require new customers to have at least two introductions, the second progressing your shooting and also reiterating your competence with safety. When you reach a competent standard, we will then progress you onto shooting with a member of our ground team. The ground team are not instructors, but they are experienced shooters who are there to supervise you until you are able to gain your own shotgun certificate.

Game & Clay Lessons
Shooters who are wanting to progress their shooting or would like to prepare for the game season would benefit from one of our hour lessons.

Our experienced instructors assess each shooter and correct any bad habits which they may have picked up. The lesson looks at all aspects of the shooter, whether it is correcting stance, problems with eyes or particular targets which the individual has problems with. There isn’t a problem which our team of instructors cannot find a solution.

Lessons can be booked six days a week, we recommend booking plenty of time in advance so that you can have a wider choice of times available.
